All areas of Facilities Management support the safety, security of people and SG assets. The Site Delivery Teams particularly focus on the safety and security of the core buildings, working with customers at all levels of the organisation and their external visitors.
You will be mainly based in the office, working with your on-site team and colleagues. You will also participate in a rota to provide presence during working hours.
Due to the nature of the role and the information which this post holder may be exposed to, they will require to go through Security Clearance (SC).

- Manage an operational delivery team with direct line management for operational delivery staff.
- Deliver the smooth running of your remit, ensuring areas of responsibility are delivered in accordance with SG practices/policies , in particular operational security management. Ensure Scottish Government security policies are implemented. Escalate concerns and non-routine decision-making to managers.
Contribute to providing assurance of statutory, regulatory and professional requirements within service remit.
- With support, implement agreed business continuity and incident response plans and support exercising with actions arising being monitored, progressed, and escalated as necessary
- Ensure security plans are in place and that buildings security safety and emergency procedures meet guidelines
- As directed, assist with investigation of relevant incidents- Input into and delivery of, with support, a programme of change management with teams to improve standards and develop a culture of continuous improvement. Take responsibility for your own continual professional development and those of your teams.
- Ensuring the best quality of service and excellent customer communications to all levels of the organisation and their visitors, this will include providing a visible presence on site.
- Acts as the escalation point for issues raised on site and troubleshoot significant operations/service delivery issues in support of supplier partners.
- Key relationship management with stakeholders, including tenants & suppliers at all levels of their organisations.
- Local day-to-day oversight of security suppliers and assurance and management of escalation issues. Ensuring all issues are escalated or reported to relevant managers.
- Support the monitoring of security performance indicators through tools such as security audits, monitoring of maintenance and project software (training will be provided).
