The Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) is seeking a Data and Insights Manager.

Background

The focus for the role will be on infrastructure delivery programmes and projects. It will be based in the hub programme and will also support wider data and digital opportunities across other areas.

The Scotland-wide hub Programme is well established and has delivered a large pipeline of community infrastructure projects, as well as enabling change. It is based on a partnership between the public and private sectors to deliver new community facilities and is managed by SFT. The programme operates across Scotland in five territories, where public bodies (local authorities, NHS Boards, blue light services etc) in each of those areas have come together and appointed a development partner to form a joint venture company, known as a hub Company or hubCo.

The role

As the Data and Insights Manager, you will be responsible for the management, development, analysis and presentation of datasets and digital systems and play a vital role in improving business intelligence, performance and outcomes across a range of programme and project delivery activities.

The role holder will, for example, manage, develop and disseminate knowledge relating to ongoing programmes, and provide analysis and visualisation of centrally collected data, trends, industry best practice and guidance.

We are looking for someone who can make complex programme and project data and information easily understood, ensuring that it is consistent, transparent and trusted. This role will drive continuity and further development of existing and new data, and digital systems. It will include managing digital platforms that provide public sector partners and industry with key datasets and best practice guidance.

The role will require the application of business intelligence software to enable dynamic and collaborative reporting systems and new ways to support business operations. Appropriate training will be provided, where required, in the management of these systems.

The role holder will be required to manage, develop, and maximise the value of multiple data systems. Sound judgement, initiative and problem solving are essential. The workload will peak at certain points in the year such as regular reporting. The workload will be demanding, and the role holder must be able to organise their workload to plan and prepare for peak reporting periods and prioritise to ensure deadlines are met. Excellent planning and organising skills are therefore key.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work well with others and influence people by developing long-term relationships, getting to know stakeholders including senior executives, and produce high-quality deliverables at pace.
