Scottish Friendly have an exciting opportunity to join our team. Based in Glasgow City Centre, we are one of the most progressive mutual life insurance offices in the UK. In this role you will also have exposure to senior stakeholders and regular interactions with colleagues in different departments across the business, allowing you to see how the work you are doing impacts the success of the Society.
Reporting to our Head of Financial & Insurance Risk, the successful candidate will get involved in a wide variety of risk and actuarial oversight work including:
- Working as part of the team to deliver the Pillar 2 methodology, models and ORSA results.
- Preparation of the annual ICARA reporting for SFAM.
- Preparing quarterly risk reporting for submission to Executive and Risk Committees.
- In-depth risk assurance around key projects, asset management activities, and product development.
- Managing the emerging risk identification process.
- Supporting the maintenance of the risk management framework, including setting risk appetite and risk policies.
- Supporting the business to develop and maintain a clear risk-culture.
- Building relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- Attending key committees and providing risk oversight.
- Presenting reports to a range of internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a nearly or newly qualified actuary with experience of having worked across a range of actuarial topics within the pensions, life insurance and/or savings sector. You will have strong attention to detail with a risk-based mindset and financial modelling experience including testing and documenting.
