About the role
Scottish Friendly has an exciting opportunity to join our team. Based in Glasgow City Centre, we are one of the most progressive mutual life insurance offices in the UK. As our E-commerce Manager, you will lead our E-commerce activity across website and mobile app with a focus on delivering profitable sales and revenue growth for our Scottish Friendly (Own Brand) products.
You’ll develop and manage the ecommerce strategy for our owned digital sales channels (website and app), aimed at achieving Own Brand revenue and profit targets.
You’ll optimise the digital sales experience for both new and existing customers across our platforms, identifying opportunities to drive the optimal product mix and improve performance, increasing average order value, engagement rates and conversion rates.
Working closely with the Customer Acquisition, Customer Development and Digital CX teams, you will oversee and deliver all Ecommerce web and app development workstreams working with external agencies and internal stakeholders to deliver continual performance improvements to our sales journeys.
Responsibilities
- Drive profitable customer recruitment and development through fully optimised and engaging web and app customer sales journeys, for all marketing channels ensuring continuous improvement in traffic conversion rates.
- Develop and implement the strategy to achieve improved sales performance on our web and mobile app platforms to improve key engagement metrics to deliver key sales and profit KPIs – AOV, product and payment mix, engagement rates and conversion rates.
- Develop robust reporting and data analytics for Ecommerce journeys for new and existing customers.
- Identify data driven opportunities and actionable insight to prioritise focus areas and delivery plan.
- Implement a continuous improvement approach to performance to increase conversion rates and AOV on website and mobile app with a robust A/B test plan.
- Develop non converted sales and lead data capture journeys to support re-marketing efforts.
- Own the delivery of web and app Ecommerce development workstreams, managing internal implementation or working directly with our external agencies as required.
- Develop and implement the SEO strategy to improve SERP ranking and increase organic traffic to the web site. Competitor analysis and research to identify trends and opportunities.
- Leadership and line management of Ecommerce Marketing Manager.
- Keep up to date with industry best practice and monitoring competitor websites and app platforms.
Qualifications & Skills
- A degree or relevant professional qualification in marketing or equivalent area.
- You will be a strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach and the capability to drive growth through data driven insights.
- Experience of Ecommerce website and app development management, demonstrating platform and user experience optimisation to drive growth.
- Leadership experience managing high performance teams.
- You will have a passion for creating customer first experiences and optimising touchpoints throughout new and existing customer sales journeys.
- Dynamic and results oriented you will thrive in a fast‑paced digital environment.
- Data‑driven with an analytical mind and strong quantitative skills to identify improvement opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation, and build relationships with external partners.
- Ability to deliver results and attention to detail.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple work streams of activity.
- Excellent working knowledge of CMS\’s and web analytics tools.
- Experience with DATO CMS advantageous.
- Expertise in SEO and SEM best practices and tools.
- Financial services experience advantageous.
