The Scottish FA is fully committed to equality and to tackling discrimination in all its forms as well as ensuring that football is accessible to all. The role of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board (EDIAB) is to provide independent advice, guidance and recommendations on all equality matters to the Scottish FA Board and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager of the Scottish FA.
We are looking to recruit two new members to the EDIAB and are seeking applications from individuals who are committed and passionate about equality and are keen to use their background, experience and knowledge to add value and insight to the Board. This is an exciting time to join the Scottish FA’s EDIAB, as we seek to develop a new strategy for equality in football, Scotland’s national game. This new strategy will replace the Football Unites: Equality Framework. Our work will focus on addressing inequalities across all protected characteristics and we seek to take an intersectional approach to tackling the barriers that some people face to engaging with football to the fullest of their ability and desires.
In particular, we welcome applications from those who can support us in the key areas of:
- Para Football & Accessibility
- Active Anti-Racism
- The Football vs Homophobia campaign
The ideal candidate will therefore be a strategic thinker who is capable of guiding practical implementation, have previous or current Board experience and knowledge or experience of sport and/or Scottish football and the current challenges within the sector. If successful, your availability will be required for a minimum of four meetings a year (in person).
The attached information and guidance provides further contextual background, and we look forward to hearing from you and having you involved in making our sport a more inclusive game for all.
