As an Assistant Security Manager, you will be responsible for working as part of the Event Safety & Security Team to help deliver the following:

  • Support the Security Manager in building a secure and enjoyable environment for all stakeholders, prioritising their safety and security at all times.
  • Liaise with the stewarding and security providers to assist with the contract management of their area of delivery and oversee service level and key performance indicators.
  • A focus on contract management and the collation of data to support the management of contractual key performance indicators.
  • Data and dashboard management to ensure that all departmental reports, audits and analytics are captured to ensure the smooth running of the function.
  • Ensure safe and secure environments across the Campus by ensuring that Stewarding and Security providers are adequately trained and briefed ahead of operational deployments.
  • Assist with the roll out of security technologies to improve the security posture at events on campus.
  • Undertake event risk assessments and define the required levels of stewarding personnel and equipment to safely deliver across Campus.
  • Assist with the formulation of training needs analysis of stewarding and security providers ensuring that the needs of all event aspects are delivered.
  • Liaise with Event Management colleagues to draft and approve stewarding and security deployments in the Live, Conference and Exhibition events held on Campus.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders—such as local authorities, contractors, and emergency services—to promote seamless collaboration.

  • Level 4 Spectator Safety Management (desirable but not essential).
  • Level 5 Crowd Management (desirable but not essential).
  • Door Supervisor (DS) SIA Licence.
  • Client side, contract management experience in an event setting (essential).
  • Experience working in a busy event industry environment and the drive to deliver in a variety of event types.
