We are recruiting for a full‑time Senior Project Manager on a fixed term basis for 23 months.

SEPA is embarking on an exciting Programme of Transformation covering how we regulate, our digital tools and how we engage with our customers. This role will manage the digital aspect of our transformation – including in‑house system development, third‑party contract management and alignment of digital projects across SEPA to support delivery of an integrated suite of systems and tools that help SEPA deliver its role to protect and improve Scotland’s environment.
Responsibilities:
- Managing complex projects or programmes with multiple workstreams/deliverables from initiation to delivery.
- Manage project resources effectively, leading dispersed multi‑disciplinary teams and third parties to optimise capacity, skills, and delivery timelines.
- Working with business users to define requirements and realise benefits.
- Creating and maintaining project documentation (business case, project plan, progress reports, risk and issues log).
- Providing project assurance across related projects, working with project teams to ensure consistent and effective delivery.
- Engage and communicate with key stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships and ensuring alignment, transparency, and buy‑in throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & experience:
- Relevant experience or qualification equivalent to SCQF Level 10 (e.g. Degree).
- Specialist expertise in Prince 2 methodology or equivalent project management accreditation/experience.
- Proven experience of managing project resources effectively, leading dispersed multi‑disciplinary teams and third parties to optimise capacity, skills, and delivery timelines.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on best practice in project delivery and related activities such as procurement, digital delivery.
