Assistant Scientist in Motherwell

We are recruiting for 2 full time Assistant Scientists in the Chemistry Function on a permanent basis

These roles will be based in our Angus Smith Building, Eurocentral

• Deliver environmental monitoring and analysis within Environmental Evidence Laboratory Services

  Preparing and analysing environmental samples, following established protocols and procedures

  Following ISO17025 requirements to ensure data integrity and reproducibility

  Useallocatedequipment, carryoutor arrange repairs and maintenancechecks for laboratory equipmentsafely

  Working in a team to ensure that the work within the function is delivered on time and to required quality

This is a highly important role within our Evidence & Water Resilience portfolio, which means you’ll need:

• Relevant experience or qualification equivalent toScottish Credit and Qualification framework (SCQF) level6-7
• Proven experience of working in aquality assuredlaboratory ideallywithISO 17025 accreditation
• Proven experience of effectively working in a team environment
• Understanding of Health & Safety requirements relevant to the role
• GoodInterpersonal,oralandwritten communication skills as well asgoodorganisationalskills, such asplanning, prioritisation of workload
