Dumbarton Sheriff Court is looking for a full-time administrator to join on a permanent basis.
Administrative Officers carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court or support other functions within the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
The Key Responsibilities
- Undertake general administrative duties including:
- Creating and updating records on the in-house computer system and data input
- Producing and processing court documents for issuing
- Preparing files for court hearings
- Attending hearings at 9:30 am when required
- Handling customer queries via telephone, email, and public counter
- Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidance and taking payments
- Assisting colleagues as needed
- Complying with GDPR requirements regarding confidentiality
Additional Expectations
- Regular contact with court users, including Judiciary and legal professionals, requiring competent and reliable advice
- Work within a team with management support and manage your own time
- Provide advice to colleagues and supervise others when necessary
- Prepare statistical information and other reports to meet work standards
- Assist in court procedures such as preparing interlocutors, court minutes, issuing letters, ordering reports, and filing documents
- Process and record fine payments on the system
