Overview
Teacher of Biology – Type: Maternity Cover. Location: The High School of Glasgow Senior School. Contact: Rebecca Morrison HR Manager: vacancies@hsog.co.uk. Salary: Based on the Scottish Teaching Pay Scales, commensurate with experience.
Closing date – noon on Friday 10th October 2025; interviews will take place during week beginning Monday 27th October 2025.
The Role
The successful applicant will be a committed and enthusiastic Biology teacher with high standards of professionalism. They will have opportunities to teach both Higher and Advanced Higher Biology. Within the department we offer a Greenfingers / Eco Committee for Transitus – Sixth Year pupils, as well as Future Scientists and Biology Journal Clubs for Sixth Years. The successful candidate should display a willingness to get involved in these extra-curricular clubs.
The appointment will begin on Monday 5 January 2026. Candidates must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) and the appointment will be subject to a successful application to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
