Main Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day tasks include working as part of a team with shared responsibilities for:
  • Creating a stimulating learning environment which fosters creativity, curiosity and challenge.
  • Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the health, safety and welfare of the children.
  • Making accurate and effective use of assessment reflecting the needs, interests and developmental stage of the individual child.
  • Using self-evaluation to identify areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to on-going CPD e.g. training, weekly planning and monthly quality assurance/self-evaluation activities.

Ideal Candidate

  • Interested candidates should hold an HNC in Childhood Practice or an SVQ in Social Services 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent).
  • They should also have experience of working within an Early Years setting and be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of all national guidelines and documents relating to pre-school education.
  • They must also hold current SSSC registration or be willing to undertake the qualification.
  • Ideally, candidates will also hold a Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Programme Leadership or experience in Forest School/outdoor learning; this is desirable although not essential.
