MINIBUS DRIVER(S) – PART TIME, TERM TIME ONLY (Morning and Evening Shift)

Schedule:

  • Morning shift: 8am to 9:30am
  • Evening shift: 3:30pm to 6:00pm
  • Both shifts required 5 days a week during term time
  • Other ad‑hoc journeys usually during the school day
  • Shifts can be done by one person or split across two drivers

£13 per hour. No closing date – applications will be considered as and when received.

Job Purpose

To drive the school minibus for the morning and evening Haymarket shuttle service, and other ad‑hoc journeys as required. The role holder will also be responsible for routine inspections of the minibus fleet.

Accountable To Head of Facilities / Business Director

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive the school minibus in a responsible and competent manner, ensuring the safety of students, other road users, and members of the public.
  • Ensure the Haymarket shuttle service runs on time as far as possible to the set route and stops, and maintain records of students using the service.
  • Be responsible for the safety and welfare of students during each journey.
  • Report any behaviour or welfare concerns to relevant teaching staff colleagues.
  • Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks and basic maintenance and ensure the bus is clean and tidy before and after each journey.
  • Refuel the minibuses as required.
  • Report any damage or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Be a good ambassador for the school, maintaining a professional conduct at all times.
  • Declare any driving sanctions or convictions that may affect insurance or operation of the bus.
  • Adhere to school policies on safeguarding and child protection at all times and attend training as required.
  • Undergo an annual check of your driving licence.
