#### RoleWe\’re looking for a polite and friendly individual with a full driving licence and the ability to undertake heavylifting, to help us maximise sales and profit by collecting and distributing donations for our shops. This roleis mainly to support stores in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.Shelter Trading Limited is best known for its national network of charity shops and thriving Christmas card business.We\’ve recently opened up a number of furniture stores, which, just like our existing charity shops, sell arange of new and donated items that generate significant income to help finance our cause.Your key responsibilities:* Collect and deliver donated items, including large furniture and electrical items and assist with the redistribution of stock, fixtures and fittings between branches* Undertake house clearances and transfer appropriate donated goods to the shop* Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate mileage records* Always maintain a high standard of customer service and strict control of the security of goods collected, transported and delivered.And what you\’ll need:* The positive and helpful attitude it takes to be an ambassador for Shelter* Excellent customer service skills and respect for people\’s property and donations* A full driving licence and a willingness to travel extensively within, and sometimes outside, the local area* The ability to adhere to health & safety policies both in the store and at external locations* Safeguarding is everyone\’s business. Your primary responsibility will be to enable and support Associates by providingcoaching, building meaningful engagement and creating dynamic opportunities for them to shape policy, transformpractices and challenge perceptions surrounding homelessness.The organisation exists to prevent homelessness and find routes out of homelessness into independent living for thepeople we support every day.Our values are support, integrity, dignity, excellence.**Purpose of the service**The purpose of a homeless youth accommodation service is to provide safe, stable, and supportive housing for youngindividuals experiencing homelessness. This type of service aims to address the unique challenges faced byhomeless youth and offer a range of support to help them transition to stable and independent living.**Purpose of the Role**The Practitioner for Youth Services plays a crucial role in delivering practical and emotional support to empoweryoung people through a strength-based trauma informed approach, enabling them to make informed choices abouttheir lives. The service aims to evidence and monitor the progress of young individuals through regularassessments, ensuring their safety and well-being. Additionally, the role involves supporting young people invarious aspects, such as housing benefit applications, understanding housing options, accessing education andemployment opportunities, and connecting with community resources. The service is dedicated to delivering asupportive environment and seeking feedback from young people to continuously improve the quality of theservice.**Housing Rights Worker** and youcould soon be playing a vital role in helping to identify and resolve the homelessness and bad housing issuesfacing local communities.**About the Team: Community Team**There are three Community Teams – North, West and East. These teams of housing rights workers engage with andactivate communities in delivering insight and evidence and targeted interventions, to address local issues andcontribute towards the Shelter Scotland Housing Emergency campaign for structural change. We work to the threeequal parts of our Community Purpose:**We challenge bad practice:** In the face of Scotland’s housing emergency, we will hold local dutybearers to account and defend people’s rights.**We build capacity:** The supply issues at the heart of the Housing Emergency in Scotland create anunsustainable demand for housing services in Shelter Scotland, across the sector and in sectors traditionallybeyond housing. We build capacity within affected organisations and groups to respond with and for the peoplethey support.**We strengthen our case for change:** We work closely with our Comms and Advocacy colleagues byproviding useful insights and context about what is happening locally. We create opportunities for people withlived experience of housing and homelessness to lend us stories which bring the real issues behind thestatistics to life.Our North Team covers regions from Fife northwards and operates out of our two regional offices in Dundee andAberdeen with the team spread across these locations.**About the role**In our North Community Team, we are engaged in our local communities to understand the housing issues people arefacing to gather insight and evidence around the broken system, and we apply our expertise to work towardsolutions. We seek to work with and within communities to build capacity and drive action around housing rightsand the housing emergency. Lived experience of the housing emergency is at the heart of everything we do.**About you**Already with some relevant experience, you’re used to working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders,have great time management skills and enjoy collaborating with people from other teams and organisations. Theability to listen to, engage and empower individuals and communities will be key. So will your willingness tochallenge practice and hold people to account – including influencing decision makers. Adept at presentinginformation and arguments in clear and compelling ways, you have a real enthusiasm for delivering workshops andpresentations too.
