The Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA) is an independent statutory body at the heart of the Children’s Hearings System, working alongside partners to protect Scotland’s most vulnerable children and young people. About the Role

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer delivers a responsive, professional and impactful EDI service across SCRA. Working closely with the Inclusion & Learning Manager and colleagues across Localities, HR, Practice and corporate teams, you will help embed inclusive practice, support compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duties and contribute to statutory reporting and organisational improvement.

  • Coordinating EDI action plans;
  • Supporting Equality and Human Rights Impact Assessments;
  • Leading on workforce and service‑delivery equality data collection and analysis;
  • Providing practical, evidence‑informed advice to help colleagues make inclusive decisions.

You will work sensitively and constructively with colleagues at all levels, promoting a culture where everyone feels heard, respected, and valued. As with all roles at SCRA, you will be expected to demonstrate behaviours consistent with our Values and our Inclusive Standards and Behaviours Framework. SCRA operates an agile working policy, with regular attendance at our Stirling office expected. While regular presence in your contractual office base is expected, there is flexibility to work in a hybrid way in line with organisational needs.

About You

You will bring:

  • Experience delivering EDI activity in a public, voluntary, social‑justice or rights‑based context
  • Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, Public Sector Equality Duties and inclusive practice
  • Skills in analysing, interpreting and presenting equality data
  • Experience supporting policy development or producing inclusion‑focused guidance
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities
  • Confidence in using Microsoft 365 and other digital tools
  • A strong commitment to SCRA’s Values and to modelling inclusive behaviours
