Development Assistant in Selkirk

Salary: c£29k - £32k per annum (pay award pending)
Location: Selkirk, Scottish Borders
Hours and terms: Full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, permanent
Closing Date: 8 October 2026

We're looking for a Development Assistant to support the delivery of new affordable homes across the Scottish Borders by providing high-quality administration and coordination support to SBHA’s Development Team.

The Role:

As Development Assistant, you will help keep the development programme well organised, accurately recorded and progressing in line with internal governance, funding and customer service requirements. You will maintain project records, action logs, consultant and contractor information, payment and cashflow records, HARP grant administration, customer communications, handover records and defects tracking
You will work closely with Development colleagues, internal teams, consultants, contractors and customers, acting as a professional first point of contact for development-related enquiries and ensuring matters are recorded, progressed or escalated where required.

What we're looking for:

• Education to Standard Grade level or equivalent (including English and Maths).
• Experience of working in a dynamic team in a fast-paced customer facing office environment
• Knowledge and understanding of best practice in administration and the ability to apply this
• Excellent people skills with a proven ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues positively and sensitively
• Demonstrated committed to achieving excellence in customer service
• Excellent numeracy, communication and IT skills experienced in the use of Microsoft Office packages - Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
