Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Council Headquarters

Salary: LiveBorders Grade 8 - £34,688.52 - £37,505.27 per annum

Hourly Rate: £17.98 - £19.44

Role Purpose

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to be part of our Sports Development team based in the Scottish Borders. We are seeking a new sports development officer to join our team to allow for an even greater focus on the development and growth of local sports clubs across the Scottish Borders, focusing on developing clubs and looking after our pathways programme which includes the Borders Athlete Support Programme.

Successful applicants will be dedicated to the development of community sport; a team player driven to make a difference. The role will take responsibility for working alongside the other sports development staff to improve the sporting pathway programme, have responsibility for the Borders ASP programme and support sports with key events and programmes throughout the year.

The individual will support clubs to be strong, inclusive, safe and sustainable with the intended outcome of strengthening the pathways into sport across the region. Essential

  • HND or relevant experience or qualifications in a sports and/or business-related discipline
  • Working towards a level 2 Coaching Qualification from a Governing Body
