Role Purpose

Are you interested in supporting children with additional needs to get to and from school, ensuring they have the opportunity to learn, play, and make new friends? If you can spare a few hours in the morning and afternoon, you’ll give them the chance to make the most of their day. Morning routes begin around 07:30 and end around 09:00. Afternoon routes start approximately at 15:15 – 15:45 and end around 16:30. This role would fit well around existing employment and commitments.

No formal qualifications are needed as training will be provided. All you need is a natural rapport with children and young people. This would be relief work initially with the potential of becoming permanent over time.

Essential Requirements

  • No formal qualifications needed
  • A current driving licence and use of a vehicle are essential requirements for this post.

If you have a disability that prevents you from holding a driver’s licence, Scottish Borders Council will consider reasonable adjustments to accommodate your disability. If such adjustments enable you to undertake the travel responsibilities, they will be taken into account.
