While our base is located within HQ in Newtown St Boswells, we provide a service across the local authority and therefore work both centrally and in local offices.

Role Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for a social worker to join our CHAD team. We have a number of hours available and can look at both full and part time hours. The CHAD team offers the opportunity to expand and explore your professional practice, knowledge, and expertise. Or it may be an opportunity to build on some knowledge that you already have in this area of Practice. Prior knowledge of CHAD is not essential.

As a Social Worker within our small team, you will work alongside your social work colleagues as well as wider multi-agency teams in the assessment and support of children with disabilities and their families. You will also be responsible for oversight of your own case load; reviewing support packages and providing direct support to children and their families. We are a growing team with lots of opportunity to be part of our ongoing development.

We work with Self-directed Legislation to meet best outcomes for our children and are creative in developing support packages.

Essential

  • Professional social work qualification recognised by the SSSC eg. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW.
  • Registration with Scottish Social Services Council.
  • Up-to-date understanding of the key issues and relevant theoretical background facing professional children and families social workers, particularly relating to child protection and looked after children.
  • A current driving licence and use of a vehicle with business insurance is an essential requirement of this post.
