Role Purpose

  • Responsible for working to a given menu and within the nutritional guidelines.
  • Work within targets/guidelines as agreed with the Area Catering Manager (food and labour costs).
  • Adhere to kitchen hygiene and cleaning schedules.
  • Adhere to portion control as per client specification.
  • Any other duties as specified by the Area Contract Officer.
  • Communicate effectively to promote the service and maintain all elements of the role to the desired levels.
  • Promote a customer focused attitude and promote healthy eating at all times.
  • Contribute to the implementation of recommendations in the interests of best value and best practice.
  • To comply at all times with internal & external policies, regulations, and legislative requirements.

Essential

  • City and Guilds 706/1 or SVQ Food Preparation and Cooking Level 1/2 or demonstrate significant experience in a Food Preparation and Cooking role and must be willing to achieve an SVQ Food Preparation and Cooking Level 2 within two years of joining the Council.
  • Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Good level of General Education.
