Role Purpose
- Responsible for working to a given menu and within the nutritional guidelines.
- Work within targets/guidelines as agreed with the Area Catering Manager (food and labour costs).
- Adhere to kitchen hygiene and cleaning schedules.
- Adhere to portion control as per client specification.
- Any other duties as specified by the Area Contract Officer.
- Communicate effectively to promote the service and maintain all elements of the role to the desired levels.
- Promote a customer focused attitude and promote healthy eating at all times.
- Contribute to the implementation of recommendations in the interests of best value and best practice.
- To comply at all times with internal & external policies, regulations, and legislative requirements.
Essential
- City and Guilds 706/1 or SVQ Food Preparation and Cooking Level 1/2 or demonstrate significant experience in a Food Preparation and Cooking role and must be willing to achieve an SVQ Food Preparation and Cooking Level 2 within two years of joining the Council.
- Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Good level of General Education.
