The Children and Families Long Term Team based in Hawick in the Scottish Borders is looking to recruit a highly motivated, qualified Children & Families Social Worker to support the provision of good outcomes for children and young people. The role within the team is varied and will include working with children who are subject to Child protection registration, children who are subject to legal orders through the children’s hearing system and also permanence planning for children.

Essential:

  • Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW, CSS.
  • Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Up-to-date understanding of the key issues and relevant theoretical background facing professional children and families social workers, particularly related to child protection and looked after children.
  • A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
