Role Purpose

Are you passionate about helping people and providing excellent customer service? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Benefits Assessor to join our Customer Advice and Support Service team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting residents across the Scottish Borders by assessing benefit entitlement and providing advice that can make a real difference to people's lives.

As a Benefits Assessor, you will assess and make decisions on a range of applications including:

  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Reduction
  • Free School Meals
  • Clothing Grants
  • Council Tax discounts and exemptions

You will also provide guidance and support to customers, colleagues and partner organisations, helping people access the assistance they need.

Essential

At least 5 SCE Standard Grades at level 3 or above (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics or Arithmetic. Comparable relevant experience.
