Job Purpose
- To assist in preparation, production and service of food as required under the supervision of the cook.
- To assist in the promotion of the ethos of better eating better learning within the school environment.
Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for pupils.
- Preparing and serving meals to pupils and staff following food safety and service standards.
- Promoting the ethos of Better Eating Better Learning.
- Working as part of a team to ensure high standards of food hygiene for pupils.
- Working alongside your team with no supervisory responsibility.
- Working with your team with no budgetary responsibility.
Requirements
- Have an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to achieve it within 6 months.
- Have experience working in a similar role.
- Have experience with basic kitchen duties and awareness of how to safely use chemical agents.
- Be able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in dining halls and kitchen.
- Have knowledge of food portion control and be able to assist with food preparation and heating.
- Possess customer care skills and be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Be flexible, able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
