Role Purpose
To assist in preparation, production and service of food as required under the supervision of the cook. To assist in the promotion of the ethos of better eating better learning within the school environment.

Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for pupils.
- Preparing and serving meals to pupils and staff following food safety and service standards
- Promoting the ethos of Better Eating Better Learning
- Working as part of a team to ensure high standards of food hygiene for pupils
- Working alongside your team with no supervisory responsibility
- Working with your team with no budgetary responsibility
Requirements
- Have an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to achieve it within 6 months
- Have experience working in a similar role
- Have experience with basic kitchen duties and awareness of how to safely use chemical agents
- Be able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in dining halls and kitchen
- Have knowledge of food portion control and be able to assist with food preparation and heating
- Possess customer care skills and be able to maintain confidentiality
- Be flexible, able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
