As a Cook Supervisor, you will manage unit operations to ensure specified service delivery. You will supervise staff, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and legislation. You will also cover sickness absences while maintaining cost-effectiveness and aiding the manager in meeting service requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing staff and ensuring that all Health and Safety and appropriate legislation are complied with.
  • Managing daily administrative tasks, including ensuring the cost-effectiveness of the unit.
  • Performing any other duties as specified by the Area Catering Manager or Unit Manager.
  • Overseeing food preparation, cooking, and serving, and managing cleaning materials for the unit.
  • Promoting and coordinating the implementation of the whole School Approach to Food in Schools and BEBL.

Requirements:

  • Possess food hygiene certificates (Elementary, Intermediate, and RIPHH) and Allergen Awareness Training or obtain within 6 months.
  • Display a wide range of catering and culinary knowledge with plans to achieve SVQ Level 2.
  • Have previous experience in budget and staff management within a production kitchen environment.
  • Have good organisational, communication, and IT skills, and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work.
