Role Purpose

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated professional to join our Community Care Reviewing Team as a part-time Grade 9 Reviewing Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Nurse who is passionate about improving outcomes for adults and supporting person-centred practice. The role offers the chance to work directly with adults receiving care and support, ensuring their services continue to meet their needs and achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

As a Reviewing Officer, you will undertake outcome-focused statutory reviews for people living at home and in care home settings, working closely with individuals, carers, families and partner organisations across health, social care, voluntary and independent sectors. You will play a key role in quality assurance, service improvement and ensuring support arrangements remain effective, proportionate, and responsive.

If you enjoy partnership working, have strong assessment and review skills, and are keen to develop your experience in quality assurance and service development, this could be the perfect opportunity.

Essential

  • Professional Social Work qualification and/or Professional Nursing or Allied Health Professional Qualification
  • Registration with the relevant professional body
  • A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.

If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
