The predicted salary is between 30000 - 32000 £ per year.

Salary: Starting at £14.48 per hour, after engagement £14.70 per hour with the opportunity to progress to advanced £15.18 per hour inclusive of rural allowance.

35 hours per week – Flexibility around working hours can be discussed.

Scottish Autism seeks to promote and provide care, education, support and opportunities for autistic people of all ages throughout Scotland. We are currently looking for a handyperson to join our Clannalba team! We are looking to appoint someone who has a ‘Can Do’ attitude, takes pride in their work and loves making a difference!

Situated on the outskirts of Lamington, Biggar, Clannalba House is an old Victorian property which was renovated a number of years ago. Clannalba’s team support a number of young men to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. Part of the attraction of Clannalba is the exceptional setting of the service, coupled with the amenities within the space. For example, we have large garden areas and a large indoor, multipurpose space. These spaces are so valuable to people’s wellbeing and serve great purpose in their lives.

We require a handyperson to manage and coordinate the general maintenance of all of the spaces, both inside and outside the property. We are looking for applications from people with the following qualities:

  • Someone who identifies with our organisational values: Compassion, Collaboration, Change Makers & Contribution.
  • Previous practical experience of electrical/plumbing/general maintenance works (desirable, not essential).
  • A thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and Fire Safety legislation.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changes.
  • Ability to approach tasks in a creative way.
  • Be able to demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude and lead by example taking ownership of work-related situations.
