Responsible for: Leading the effective delivery of the Clubs and Pathways, Community Impact, and Health pillars of the Scottish athletics strategy.

About You: We seek an innovative, forward-thinking leader passionate about developing athletics and positively changing lives through sport. You should have experience in developing clubs and volunteers, knowledge of equality, diversity, and inclusion work in sport, and a proven track record in evolving services to meet members' needs and aspirations. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally are essential.

About The Role: The Head of Development and Participation is a key role in the Senior Management Team, leading two of the five strategic pillars. Leading an experienced team, you will support club development, evolve community impact and health programs, and deliver the National Facilities Strategy. The role requires close collaboration with other departments and key partners, including Scottish Action for Mental Health and Athletics Trust Scotland. With the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and upcoming projects, this is an outstanding opportunity to work in a dynamic sport environment.

Place of Work: Hybrid working. The head office is at Laurie Liddell Clubhouse, Peffermill Playing Fields, Edinburgh, and there is an office at Emirates Arena, Glasgow.

Salary: Β£45,000 per annum, with annual reviews.

Benefits: Enhanced statutory benefits, hybrid working, five extra days annual leave after five years, Death in Service x 2.

Hours of work: 37 hours/week, with regular evening and weekend work expected. Flexible working is encouraged.

Pension: Details provided upon appointment.

Annual Leave & Public Holidays: 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 after five years, plus 10.5 public holidays.
