Job Overview
Job purpose
Mackay & Inglis are a print and print finishing company based in Glasgow and produce a huge variety of printed materials such as booklets, newsletters, business forms, leaflets, calendars and posters. Our finishing equipment allows us to perform a wide range of techniques including cutting, folding, collating, numbering, wire and saddle stitching, creasing, drilling, padding, tabbing, shrink wrapping and wire-o binding. We are looking for an individual to join our print finishing and despatch department.
Working in a manufacturing environment, duties may include but are not limited to:- operation of print finishing machines, production line assistant, general handwork, packing and labelling products for despatch, preparing despatch paperwork.
The successful candidate should have the following:- numeracy and literacy skills, accuracy and attention to detail, ability to perform manual tasks, good communication skills, good team worker
No formal qualifications are necessary; however, ideally candidates should have Core Skills Numeracy at SCQF Level 5.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn and develop new skills. Candidates must be reliable, hardworking and take pride in their work.
After an initial 3-month probation period you will be enrolled in Modern Apprenticeship at SVQ Level 3 – Post Press.
