We have an opportunity to take on a Modern Apprentice for an excellent childcare setting in Renfrew. This is a full-time position, and the apprenticeship takes around 12 months to complete. You will be employed by the nursery, and l&g Learning will support you through your training. The aim is to obtain an SVQ 3 in Social Services Children and Young People and become a qualified Childcare Practitioner upon completion.
You will be assisting senior practitioners and training under the general direction of the manager.
Ideal for candidates who want a career in childcare and are motivated to learn and grow within the sector.
Responsibilities
- Set up the play environment for a day of learning
- Implement planned learning experiences in line with the Curriculum for Excellence
- Keep children safe and well at all times
- Assist with snacks, lunches and dinners
- Participate in outdoor play in all weather
Qualifications & Requirements
- Desire to work in the childcare sector; relatable experience preferred
- One National 5 qualification including English is ideal, but not required; consideration given for other qualifications
- Foundation Apprenticeship in Childcare is advantageous and may provide direct access to the interview stage
- Evidence of qualification and relevant placement skills
- Willingness to complete a work-based apprenticeship lasting about 12 months
