Overview
In this role you safeguard the Operational Technology environment within SSE’s distributions arm, shaping cyber security across OT networks and architectures. You will drive risk-based improvements, policy delivery, and vulnerability remediation in collaboration with IT and business teams. The role combines technical OT security work with stakeholder engagement to protect critical infrastructure. This is a hybrid, location-flexible position with a strong impact on resilience and secure operations.

Responsibilities
- Assess and improve cyber security within OT processes, systems and designs
- Develop and update OT cyber security policies and procedures
- Maintain OT risk registers in collaboration with business and system owners
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors and external groups to identify vulnerabilities and propose remediations
- Represent OT as a security expert in cross-unit discussions and governance
- Ensure end-to-end OT service security meets resilience requirements
Key requirements
- Professional certification such as GICSP or equivalent (in progress acceptable)
- Strong theory and practical understanding of telecom and IT systems
- Solid experience in risk assessment and vulnerability management
- Ability to simplify complex technical information for varied audiences
- Strong knowledge of OT network operation and design
- SC level security vetting requirement (UK) with residency criteria
