Overview
In this role, you will support IT planning, expenditure and cost management within the IT Asset & Billing team. You will collaborate with Service Delivery and partners to enable IT project operation, portfolio reporting and cost governance. You will manage budgets, forecasting and cost controls across projects, ensuring alignment with policy and strategic objectives. The role offers a chance to influence portfolio performance and drive efficiency in a large energy-focused organisation. This is a hybrid, permanent position with multiple base locations.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day activities across the IT Asset & Billing team, including portfolio reporting, project cost controls and cost management processes
- Provide financial management support for IT projects and run costs: budget development, investment planning, forecasting, risks, variance analysis and transfers
- Monitor the portfolio of projects from inception to closure, ensuring on-time delivery, budget compliance and risk mitigation aligned to strategic objectives
- Classify, record and govern project costs per accounting policies, including Capex and Revex requirements
- Use portfolio cost reporting to assess health, identify improvements and support corrective actions
Key requirements
- Strong background in project/programme cost management, including forecasting and investment planning
- Ability to explain complex processes clearly to customers and stakeholders
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with strong analytical capability to translate data into insights
- Experience of Capex and Revex management, cost governance, and investment reporting
- Confidence to take ownership of issues in a pressurised environment
- Strong team focus with ability to manage priorities and improve processes
