Overview

In this role you will deliver critical control system solutions for the Transmission network, guiding projects from design to commissioning. You will work with cross-functional teams to define scope, requirements, and delivery plans, shaping both bespoke and standard solutions. You’ll manage interfaces with multiple stakeholders and ensure safe, compliant delivery. This is an impactful position within SSE’s Transmission business, contributing to reliable power and the energy transition.

Responsibilities

  • Translate project requirements into deployable control system solutions for the Transmission network
  • Own design, liaison, procurement, project management and system commissioning across projects
  • Identify when new designs are needed or align requirements with existing standard designs
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define scope, requirements, and delivery programme
  • Develop design deliverables and the project delivery plan

Key requirements

  • Extensive project management experience with design/implementation of Control & SCADA systems (DNP3)
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850 is advantageous
  • Strong ability to negotiate scope, costs, and expectations; manage RTS/SCADA interfaces
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of CDM regulations with a safety focus
  • HNC qualification in electrical or telecommunications discipline (or equivalent relevant experience)
