Overview
In this Project Manager role within SSEN Transmission Offshore, you will lead the Civil Engineering package for offshore electrical infrastructure, focusing on underground cabling. You will operate across design, consents, procurement, construction, testing, and hand-over, ensuring safety, cost, and schedule targets. The role drives interfaces across internal and external teams to deliver a large-scale offshore HVDC project in the North West of Scotland. You will spend substantial time on-site to support delivery and work toward a net-zero energy future.

Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of underground cable civil engineering packages with clear scope and interfaces
- Champion health, safety, CDM compliance and SSEN policies on all works
- Manage programme, risk, and commercial performance including budgets and change control
- Oversee contractor, consultant and supplier performance and support procurement activities
- Coordinate design, consents, and stakeholder interfaces to optimise safety and project outcomes
- Support end-to-end project governance, testing, commissioning and hand-over
Key requirements
- Proven experience delivering civil engineering or linear infrastructure projects (ideally with underground HV/EHV cable routes)
- Strong knowledge of cable route construction methods (trenching, ducting, HDD/boring, joint bays, reinstatement)
- Understanding of UK health and safety legislation including CDM Regulations
- Experience administering NEC3 (or similar) contracts with commercial management and change control
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline; professional membership/desirable
- Strong stakeholder management, planning and risk management skills
