Over recent years, we've established a modern data platform, launched DataHub as our central reporting and insight service, embedded data governance across critical business domains and begun introducing AI-powered solutions into operational processes. As demand for data-driven decision making continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Lead Data Analyst to help shape the next phase of that journey.

This role sits within the P&C Data & Insights team and provides technical, delivery and thought leadership across our analytics estate. You'll lead a small team of analysts, shape priorities across a diverse portfolio of work, drive continuous improvement of our data services and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.

You will:

  • Own and continuously evolve P&C's end-to-end analytics services, from data pipelines and DataHub through to dashboards, KPIs and insight products, ensuring they remain scalable, reliable and valuable to the business.
  • Own the analytics backlog and support the prioritisation of demand, ensuring delivery effort is focused on the highest-value opportunities and business outcomes.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement activities, translating business needs into practical analytical solutions.
  • Act as an advisor to business leaders, helping shape decisions through trusted data and insight.
  • Drive improvements in data quality, governance and stewardship across key procurement and commercial datasets.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching and quality assurance across the analyst community, promoting best practice and supporting capability development.

You have:

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to translate business challenges into impactful data and analytics solutions.
  • Proven experience leading complex analytics initiatives and delivering high-value reporting, actionable insights and data products.
  • Advanced analytics and visualisation expertise, including Power BI, dashboard design, KPI development and data storytelling.
  • Strong technical capability in SQL, Python and modern cloud data platforms to develop and optimise analytics data pipelines and solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of data governance, data quality and stewardship principles, with experience driving adoption and improvement.

Desirable:

  • Experience improving analytics operating models, such as demand intake, backlog prioritisation, QA standards, reusable data products or self-service reporting.
  • Experience applying analytics in procurement, commercial or supply chain environments where insight directly supports business decisions.
  • Experience using automation, AI or advanced analytics to improve reporting, data quality, insight generation or user self-service.
