Overview
In this role you support the development and delivery of electrical distribution designs for new and existing infrastructure, spanning LV to EHV (132kV). You’ll collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure safe, compliant project delivery from feasibility to adoption. The role sits in the growing Energy Customer Solutions and ICP market, contributing towards the UK’s net-zero transition. You will work hands-on with design, assessments and integration tasks, making a measurable impact on energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Develop LV, HV and EHV electrical distribution designs for contestable infrastructure projects
- Produce conceptual, outline and detailed designs aligned with NERS, ENA G81, BS standards and DNO/IDNO requirements
- Perform feasibility studies, route assessments and equipment selection
- Carry out technical studies (load flow, fault level, voltage drop, protection coordination)
- Integrate earthing, protection, metering and SCADA requirements where applicable
- Ensure designs comply with CDM, SHE and industry legislation
Key requirements
- Degree, HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (advantageous)
- Experience or understanding of electrical distribution network design across LV and HV
- Awareness of NERS, ENA G81, DNO/IDNO standards, CDM 2015 Regulations and UK engineering legislation
- Understanding of protection, earthing and cable systems
- Experience with engineering software and AutoCAD (desirable)
- Working towards professional registration such as IEng or CEng (desirable)
