Overview
As Site Supervisor you will lead on-site delivery for the Banniskirk 400kV and Spittal Substation extension projects, ensuring safe, compliant and timely execution. You’ll be the on-site SSEN Transmission representative, coordinating with contractors and the operations team to meet programme goals. Your focus on safety culture, quality, and regulatory compliance will support reliable energy infrastructure in Scotland. The role offers hands-on leadership with a clear impact on project delivery and community relations.

Responsibilities
- Act as the on-site point of contact for SSEN and ensure contractor work complies with contract, SSEN policies and procedures
- Measure completed works against works information to support payments and manage compensation events
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental and quality standards, including CDM and statutory obligations
- Collaborate with contractors and the operations team to deliver works to the programme in a safe, environmentally responsible manner
- Lead on-site, promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with planning consents and SHE legislation
- Submit routine reports and KPIs to the Project Manager and maintain project documentation
- Support smooth project progression by coordinating with colleagues, contractors and community partners
- Travel to and work on-site across Banniskirk and related sites with required driving licence
Key requirements
- Strong engineering and construction knowledge with emphasis on safety and CDM regulations
- Experience in site supervision or construction at duty holder level for complex works
- Experience in construction access works (beneficial)
- Understanding of project planning, progress tracking, and quality controls (including ITPs)
- Ability to read and work with project plans and inspection standards
- Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office; familiarity with common software
- Excellent written and oral communication; ability to represent the project internally and externally
- Full current driving licence is essential
