Overview
As Senior Development Project Manager for EGL5, you will steer the optioneering and early design of one of the UKβs largest transmission projects. You will lead a team, manage key interfaces and ensure timely progress toward a scalable HVDC connection between Scotland and England. You will drive risk-aware delivery, governance and HSE leadership across cross-functional workstreams. This is a high-impact, nationally significant role shaping the future of the UK energy network with SSE.

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Development Project Managers to progress EGL5 through optioneering and initial design, delivering to timescales and juggling multiple priorities
- Communicate and manage internal and external interfaces across project workstreams, including JV partner coordination
- Develop, manage and report on project programmes, maintaining milestones and applying mitigation as issues arise
- Support use of project management systems, risk management processes and large capital project governance; ensure CDM 2015 compliance
- Provide Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental leadership and ensure policy compliance
Key requirements
- Strong leadership with experience on significant infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of CDM 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and related HSE legislation
- Experience with NEC3 Suite of Contracts (Engineering & Construction and Professional Services)
- Proven ability to support development through optioneering and initial design, delivering to timescales while managing multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels; degree-level qualification and professional membership; project management qualifications desirable
