Overview
In this Risk Manager role within SSE Renewables, you lead the risk management approach for a major offshore wind capital project.
You’ll own standards and methods, working with Project Services, Managers and leadership to drive risk-informed decisions.
You’ll shape mitigation strategies, quantify risk exposure, and ensure delivery aligns with the project business case.
This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that directly influences project performance and outcomes from day one.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement consistent risk management standards, tools and processes
- Lead Quantitative Risk Analysis (QCRA and QSRA) to define contingencies and monitor live risk exposure
- Lead Schedule Risk Analysis to validate delivery timelines and identify schedule risks
- Identify and implement risk and opportunity mitigation strategies to improve the business case
- Facilitate delivery against the Project Business Case with Project, Package Managers, Finance and Commercial teams
- Engage with Project and Executive Leadership, and external stakeholders to present clear risk position summaries
- Key requirements
- Experience leading the risk management function on a major project
- Understanding of how risks and opportunities affect the business case and delivery
- Ability to synthesize complex project information for concise senior-management evaluations
- Experience of running quantitative risk analysis models and presenting outputs clearly
- Ability to act as a trusted adviser to project leadership and participate in decision-making
- Strong communication and concise reporting
- Strategic thinking and influence across cross-functional teams
