Overview
In this role you will provide proactive occupational health and safety guidance to SSEN Transmission, helping to mitigate risk and ensure a safe, healthy workplace. You will work with project teams and directors to meet UK SHW and CDM requirements, underpinning a safety-first culture. The position emphasizes collaboration, risk-based decision making and improving safety performance across multiple sites. This is a mission-driven opportunity to support critical electricity infrastructure during the energy transition. You will engage across stakeholders to uphold our Safety Licence and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Support risk mitigation through awareness raising and practical safety controls
- Provide SHW and CDM guidance to project teams and directorates
- Assist Client, Principal Designer and Designer roles to comply with CDM and Safe Systems of Work
- Contribute to incident reporting, performance monitoring and continuous improvement
- Develop stakeholder relationships and promote the Safety Licence across SSEN Transmission and SSE Group
Key requirements
- Graduate qualification in Occupational Safety with proven safety/risk management experience
- IOSH membership preferred
- Stakeholder management and cross-business collaboration skills
- Knowledge of qualitative/quantitative risk assessment and ALARP
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience applying SHW/CDM requirements on construction projects
- Full UK driving licence with travel to sites
