Overview
In this role you will support the Consents and Environment function within SSEN Transmission to enable Scotland’s renewable energy ambitions. You will work with operational teams to embed environmental and consenting requirements into asset management and handover processes. You will help implement monitoring, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Support operational teams in maintaining the network by embedding consenting and environmental requirements into asset management systems
- Collaborate with the Consents and Environment team to ensure planning conditions are understood early for smooth handover
- Implement proportionate monitoring regimes and advise operations to maintain regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders (operational teams, project teams, statutory authorities)
Key requirements
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and consenting regimes
- Proven project management skills including consenting oversight, environmental compliance, consultant management, cost control, risk management, quality oversight, and programme coordination
- Degree (or equivalent) in an environmental discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred
