Overview
As an Asset Risk & Investment Engineer, you analyse asset health and risk across the transmission network to inform investment decisions and regulatory reporting. You will work with engineers, asset specialists and data professionals to keep asset information robust and datasets traceable. Your work translates data into insights, dashboards and actionable recommendations for risk management and planning. This role supports evidence-based asset choices and contributes to the broader energy transition goals at SSE. You will have the chance to shape investment plans in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities
- Review asset condition, performance and network data to assess health and quantify risk across the transmission network
- Develop and maintain asset risk datasets ensuring data integrity, consistency and traceability for investment planning and regulatory reporting
- Transform complex data into insights, dashboards and recommendations using Excel, Power BI, Invest, Maximo and ArcGIS
- Support the development and application of risk methodologies including NARM assessments and other asset risk models
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (engineers, asset managers, regulatory bodies) to support investment planning, regulatory reporting and evidence-based asset choices
Key requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience analysing asset, operational or infrastructure data to support risk-based decision-making
- Advanced Excel skills including data modelling and visualisation
- Knowledge of asset management principles, risk assessment methodologies and data-driven decision making
- Strong analytical and communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders and translate complex information
