Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following base locations - Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Swindon, Melksham, Andover, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, Slough, Basingstoke, Poole, New Forest, Thatcham, West London or Aldershot/Petersfield.

The Change Communications Manager plays a key role in the successful delivery of our strategic transformation portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a complex, high‑profile programme that is redefining how we serve our customers, embedding agility into our operations, and building the digital capability needed for the future of SSE. You'll work with experienced delivery teams and key stakeholders across our business, managing our change communications and engagement methodology to ensure change lands effectively in the business.
Working with delivery teams and stakeholders, you will be part of a change team, working on communications and engagement plans across programme releases. As part of the Change Team, you'll create and deliver clear, impactful communication plans that inform and inspire colleagues through significant change. You'll drive business engagement, reinforce adoption messages, and coordinate with wider change and communications activity to ensure change is successfully embedded across Distribution.
Accountabilities
- Owning and managing a strategic change communication plan.
- Developing engaging communications by working closely with stakeholders in the change programme and within the operational teams.
- Developing employee engagement methods that fit with both office based and field based colleagues.
- Managing communication channels to various audience groups both local to the change and across the entire organisation.
- Maintaining and updating the communication and engagement plan and reporting on progress.
Qualifications
- Strong change communication background and experience.
- Experience of working with both office and field based teams - with a desire to interact across different locations and different working environments.
- Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to turn complex information into simple, easily understandable language.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across multiple teams in a fast paced environment.
- The ability to adjust and react to a changing environment.
