Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available. 50% of your working week will be spent in the office/depot.

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and support the successful delivery of Competition in Connections (CiC) projects from start to finish. Ideally, you’ll have proven Project Management experience, or consider candidates from utilities who demonstrate relevant transferable skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the preparation of job packs, including key technical and safety documentation, helping ensure compliance with CDM regulations and supporting delivery partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Working with delivery partners to plan and coordinate works, track progress against milestones, keep projects on budget and on track, while maintaining accurate project records.
  • Issuing job packs in line with contractual and regulatory requirements, providing guidance where needed and escalating any issues to help keep projects moving.
  • Building your knowledge of industry regulations, processes and best practice, while taking part in training and competency development to support safe and compliant delivery.
  • Supporting the team during emergency situations and severe weather events, helping minimise customer interruptions and resolve issues as quickly as possible.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Project Management or Project Coordination with a desire to develop further in this area.
  • Understanding of SSE's connections methodology, or related industry such as Independent Connection Providers (ICP’s), Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNO’s) would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Familiarity with using systems and tools such as PROMIS, GIS, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, with some knowledge of streetworks and permit requirements.
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to build positive relationships, manage stakeholder expectations and deliver a great customer experience.
  • Good organisation and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Travel & Vehicle: This role involves travel across various locations to support business needs. Company will provide access to a vehicle for work‑related travel. A valid driving licence is essential.
