We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Tower Painting team. This is a great chance to play an important role in maintaining and improving our tower network across the South of England, helping to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’ll work closely with contractors and project teams, building positive working relationships and supporting the successful delivery of works across the network.

You will:

  • Make sure tower painting contractors carry out work safely, efficiently, and to the required standard
  • Review and approve risk assessments, method statements, rescue plans, and permits to work, and carry out site safety audits when needed
  • Monitor contractor performance, progress, quality, and programme, highlighting any risks or delays
  • Check contractors are using approved personnel, valid certifications, and the correct access methods
  • Support communication between contractors and client teams, including planning future works and outages

You have:

  • Knowledge of Work at Height Regulations, CDM, and permit‑to‑work systems
  • Ability to critically review and challenge RAMS, rescue plans, and access methods
  • Competence in conducting site audits, inspections, and behavioural safety observations
  • Ability to manage multiple contractors impartially on behalf of SSEN
  • Knowledge of 132 & 33kV tower networks would be desirable but not essential
  • Competent IT skills on programmes such as Microsoft Excel, Teams, SharePoint
  • A valid driving licence is essential.
