Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Berkshire, Wiltshire, West London, Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire.

Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + car/allowance (if doing over 5,000 business miles a year) + performance‑related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options available. A full UK Driving Licence is essential.

The Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Contract Manager with developed experience in providing pre and post contract quantity surveying / commercial support on a range of one‑off and programmes of work within our Distribution business.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and assist with the development of relationships with main suppliers/contractors.
  • Work with the Contract Managers to ensure the best approach is taken in sourcing goods, works or services.
  • Liaise with peers to review best practice, lessons learned etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance.
  • Support the Contract Manager and/or Procurement and Commercial Manager in providing a world‑class procurement and commercial service including estimating, sourcing management/support, cost and budget management, payment & expenditure management, contract administration, dispute resolution, general commercial guidance and support as required.
  • Support the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge and experience of all aspects of commercial management including cost reports, forecasting, risk evaluation, supply chain payments and post‑contract change together with working knowledge of standard industry forms of contract.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure whilst still delivering quality output and prioritising requirements where necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders outside your own sphere of responsibility.
  • Conversant with the NEC3 Option A and C.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
