Base Location: You will be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations - Perth, Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Salary: £78,400 - £117,600 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role:
- Our Spec Trading Team works across Europe's gas, power, and carbon markets, deploying capital within a well-established risk framework.
- As Senior Spec Trader, you will combine hands-on trading with a strong team ethic, helping to create a supportive, inclusive environment where strong commercial outcomes and sustainable ways of working go hand in hand.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging open, inclusive ways of working.
- Manage trading risk with care, deploying capital within a £4m VaR limit and contributing to desk and EM performance objectives.
- Shape and deliver trading strategies across EU gas, power, and carbon markets, drawing on data, insight, and collaboration.
- Support and develop your team, coaching traders and analysts and creating space for learning, confidence, and growth.
- Work closely with colleagues, partnering with Trading, Risk, and Origination teams to share perspectives and strengthen market understanding.
You have:
- Experience in energy trading, with a solid understanding of markets, products, and P&L, and a thoughtful commercial approach.
- Comfort with analysis and tools, including Excel, VBA, Python, and market platforms such as ETRM, Bloomberg, and Web ICE.
- The ability to communicate clearly, explaining ideas and strategies with confidence to a range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative leadership style, with experience supporting others and working constructively across teams.
- Personal resilience and integrity, with good organisation, attention to detail, and respect for governance and regulation.
