The role:
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving the transformation of our business operations through our flagship transformation programme. This programme is focused on embedding agility, enhancing our digital capabilities, and transforming the customer journey. You will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, capture business requirements, design future-state processes, and support the development of high-impact solutions that meet SSE's strategic goals.
- Lead the gathering of business requirements from internal and external stakeholders, facilitating workshops and interviews to create consensus and prioritise needs using approaches like MoSCoW.
- Design future-state business processes, data flows, and ways of working in line with SSE's digital transformation objectives.
- Support technical design teams by translating business requirements into functional specifications and working closely with development teams in agile sprints.
- Ensure the effective delivery of change by documenting current state processes, performing gap analyses, and collaborating with Change Managers to enable smooth transitions.
- Mentor and guide a team of Business Analysts, promoting consistent practices and ensuring best practices are adhered to across the programme.
You will have:
- Extensive experience in business analysis within an agile delivery environment, with a strong track record in eliciting and translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to guide and mentor teams of Business Analysts, ensuring quality outputs and career development.
- Expertise in process design, process mapping, gap analysis, and identifying opportunities for process improvements (e.g., Lean).
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various stakeholders at different levels of the organisation.
- Experience working within the energy and utilities sector, particularly in electricity networks, distribution network operators, and asset management would be advantageous.
