Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Reading or Havant.

Salary: £78,400 - £117,600 + car/car allowance - if applicable + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: 12 month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

The role is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening the resilience of critical IT and operational technology services that support essential infrastructure across the SSE Group. You will lead the development of service continuity and recovery capability, working across teams to ensure systems remain secure, reliable and ready to respond to disruption. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, giving you the chance to shape how resilience is embedded into day-to-day operations and future change.

You will:

  • Lead the development of resilience across IT and operational technology, helping to keep critical services safe, secure and reliable through the establishment of an IT/OT Service Continuity & Resilience Programme.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to embed service continuity and recovery planning into day-to-day operations and future change.
  • Build a clear view of critical services and dependencies, ensuring we are prepared to respond to and recover from disruption.
  • Support and guide service owners to develop and test robust continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying risks, strengthening resilience capabilities and sharing insights with senior stakeholders.

You have:

  • Demonstrable experience in resilience, service continuity or disaster recovery within complex operational environments, supported by relevant qualifications (e.g. ITIL, ISO 22301, ISO 27001/27031 or equivalent).
  • A strong understanding of IT systems and, ideally, exposure to operational or industrial control environments.
  • The ability to bring people together, building trusted relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on practical and effective solutions.
  • Confidence communicating clearly, translating technical detail into straightforward, accessible language.
