The role
SSEN’s IT Network Solutions team is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide operational support for the GE Vernova Electric Office product suite and other engineering applications such as PowerFactory. You will ensure the reliability, performance and security of these critical systems, delivering high‑quality support to engineering and operational users. The role combines hands‑on application administration, incident/problem resolution, minor enhancements, and a strong focus on automating routine support activities.
You Will
- Lead operational support for Network Solutions applications using ServiceNow and DevOps workflows, including user engagement, incident triage, fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Operate within SSEN’s service delivery framework, ensuring effective incident, problem and request management.
- Automate manual support tasks through scripting, dashboards and monitoring tools (e.g., Kibana) to improve service efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain the reliability, security and performance of Network Solutions application services.
- Perform system administration tasks to ensure the health, stability and continuous operation of the Electric Office and related services.
You Have
- Experience with GE Vernova Electric Office from a user, support, administration or development perspective. (Optional)
- Experience with PowerFactory in a similar capacity.
- Familiarity with agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience working with Kubernetes, ideally within Azure.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell.
- Experience with programming languages such as Smallworld Magik, Python or C#.
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and hands‑on experience with tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
