Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
At SSE Renewables, we are committed to powering a better world through low-carbon energy – and our people are at the heart of that mission. Our Turbine Maintenance Team plays a key role in keeping our onshore wind farms operating safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
We're currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and help lead the delivery of safe, high-quality turbine maintenance within your local area. In this role, you'll be responsible for coordinating daily maintenance activities, providing technical support, and helping to build a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement. You'll support and guide your team, lead on complex work scopes, and work closely with the Regional Resource Manager to help oversee performance, logistics, and development activities. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting others, and making a difference, we'd love to hear from you – even if you don't meet every requirement.
You Will
- Ensure Safety & Compliance: Promote and uphold Wind Turbine Safety Rules, PPE requirements, and site procedures. You'll help lead a safety-first culture through regular audits, training exercises, and proactive incident reporting using our SEAR system.
- Lead Maintenance Operations: Oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, on time, and with asset integrity in mind.
- Develop & Enforce Work Systems: Support the creation and use of safe systems of work – including clear work instructions, risk assessments, and procedural guidance across your team.
- Manage Assets & Teams: Help manage vehicles, tools, IT equipment, PPE, and stock. You'll also support audits and contribute to team performance and development.
- Support Business Needs & Culture: Collaborate across teams, adapt to changing site needs, and lead by example to help build an inclusive and high-performing environment.
You Have
- A recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines (NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent), or relevant practical experience in a technical or engineering-based environment.
- Experience in maintenance of high-tech plant or equipment, including servicing, fault diagnosis, and carrying out repairs or modifications.
- Experience supporting or leading teams in a safety-critical setting, ideally with knowledge of safe systems of work (though we can support training in this area).
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports, procedures, and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills, and the ability to work within approximately 60 minutes of your designated site.
